I am writing Kanken Level 8 this February in India. I am studying JLPT N3 so I was pretty confident while applying for the test, but as I started studying I figured out my grasp of Kanji vocabulary when it comes to writing is REALLY poor. For instance, if I see a word, I can tell how it reads and its meaning but you remove one Kanji and even if you give the furigana, I find myself blinking.
Is there a list of vocabulary for 8 kyuu Kanken? Something that 3rd graders in Japan would use...
There are no real vocabulary lists for the kanji kentei as a whole. The vocab lists in the site were generated using sets of common (well, as common as possible) words while making sure all the readings in each kanken test are covered.
Oh my God! I never realised there were vocabulary lessons for Kanken as well. Oops, my bad.
