You know how you can see a list of categories in the grammar library (basic, intermediate, advanced, JLPT 1-4)? Well, if you click on Basic, it shows you all the basic patterns, no problem. However, if you click on Intermediate or Advanced, both display all Intermediate and Advanced patterns, making it a bit difficult to distinguish between the two.
For example, it says in my profile that I've done 119/128 Intermediate patterns, but if I look at the sub-categories for Intermediate, it says I've done them all already (except for ~て差し上げる since I've yet to confirm it's usage). Then if I look in index list below that shows all the grammar patterns for Intermediate, it includes the Advanced patterns. Vice versa, if you click on Advanced, it also shows the Intermediate patterns. Same thing for JLPT 3 and 2.
Ok, I fixed the numbers on the intermediate patterns (you do not want to know how long that took) - at least, I think they're fixed.
As for this 'display all' problem, can you give me a specific example? you click on this, then you click this category/group, then you see grammar XXX that shouldn't be here - something like that should help me replicate the bug.
Hahah, sorry for making you do so much work, but the numbers are fixed, thanks ^^
As for the 'display all' bit, I'm not sure if you set it up to be this way or if it's a bug, but for example if you click on the top drop down list where it says "Grammar categories" and choose a category like Basic, then at the bottom it shows the sub-categories (Time, Secondary Verbs, Verb Suffixes, etc.) and below that it shows each single grammar pattern in the Basic category. However, for Intermediate and Advanced, it mixes the two categories and shows all of the patterns in the single grammar pattern list (not the sub-categories).
In fact, I just noticed it does the same thing for Basic. At first, it shows that there are only 2 pages of Basic patterns. But, when you click on page 2, you now have 17 pages of patterns because it displays all categories instead of just the Basic patterns.
Got it. Frankly, it's going to be rather tricky fixing this perfectly - I've got it fixed in the new developmental version of the site, but that's already changed too much from the old site; I can't just copy the code over.
What I can do is set it so that if you choose a category (like Basic), it'll also automatically choose the first subcategory and display those. It doesn't bleed across with the subcategories, so it seems like that'd be a decent fix while the other version of the site gets brought into play. What do you think?
Aye, if it's going to be too much work to get it going for this version of the site, then it's not really worth it since you've already got the new site in the works. Your suggestion sounds fine to me ^^
