This problem happened me lot of times, but I guess it's a bug: 1) I made a Vocabulary private lesson. 2) I added the word "する". 3) I changed the very long meaning for "to do". 4) I saved the lesson
And this is the problem: Everytime I push the pencil button to edit the lesson, I see again the previous long meaning of "する" instead the short one I added. But this just happens with some words as いつ, する, いす and やる. Anyway, in the quizz, the meaning shown is the one I added instead the previous long one. However, if I push the pencil button to edit something in the lesson, I need to rewrite the meaning I wrote before because if I push the "Save" button without edit again the meaning, I'll see the first meaning in the quizz instead the one I wrote.
Also, if I search again those words after edit the meaning, I can see the words with the meaning I wrote in the searching. But I add that word with my meaning and the Save the lesson, I get a gain the original meaning when I push the pencil button. I tried lot of ways and I cannot avoid this. And I cannot understand why this affect just to some words.
I put in a tentative change - it actually fixed a related bug to what you had (I could not replicate your issue), but I have a feeling it'll handle your issue as well. Please give it a try!
Ah, forgot to mention. Due to a limitation in the site's code (really, the database construction), you need to have the following setting turned on under Vocabulary: "Optional definitions" > Definitions from other users
Ah, ok. I activated that option already. It was off. But the problem continues.
This is one of my lessons. I wrote all the meanings, except the one of いつ and する.
I want to simplify the meaning of those words to make the reading of the quizzes faster. So, I just want to add the most common and frequent meaning, like this:
Then I push Save Lesson and I can see everything ok in the quizz. But if I push again the "pencil" button, I see again the first screenshoot and I need to edit again those words. For some reason, this just happens with some words like いつ, する, いす and やる (and maybe much more).
Ah, I could solve the problem! This problem was solved after I desactivated the option "Simple definitions" below the option "Definitions from other users". Isn't this option working wrong or maybe I don't understand how it works and what's its function?
I activated again the option "simple definitions", then I made a test lesson , I added the word する with the meaning "to do" and saved the lesson. When I opened the lesson again the word was with the same meaning instead the long one. So I think the issue is solved now. Thanks!
