In the dictionary there are three different entries for とぶ as listed above with the meaning of to fly, jump or soar. The last one is not really used today but instead is る(かける)also meaning to fly. From my understanding the first one is more along the lines of jumping where the second would be used for actually flying. The reason I am asking is that I tried to submit a sentence using んじゃ but the binding didn't work no matter how I reparsed it. If I left it in just hiragana the first kanji would make an appearance but not the second or third. Would using the first kanji for binding make a difference in sentence meaning?

White Fox,

I had to use other words in my sentences as some of them would not bind correctly. Were you able to use another word?

Yes, it would.

ぶ is used for the physical act of jumping. Other meanings: pounce, spring, bounce, jump on.

ぶ is used for flying, fluttering, blowing through the air (pages of a book, a piece of paper).

ぶ while uncommon, is used for objects currently in flight. Soaring is the most common definition. All the terms I was able to find were associated with airplanes.

Any help?

じゅうりさん Thanks for your help. I was wondering as I never am able to find example sentences that explain the differences of when Kanji with the same reading and meaning are to be used.

Tofugu actually has an excellent article with various homophones here: https://www.tofugu.com/japanese/japanese-homophone...
While it is by no means complete, it does give example sentences and explain the usage nuances for the more common ones, including ぶ vs ぶ.
