In the back of the lesson 4 in Genki 1 there is *a lot* of vocab that I think is important to have presented in the lesson vocab. There's an entire page dedicated to months of the year (Jan - Dec), the words for the counters of each day of the month (1..31) and relative dates ("last week", "last month", etc).
Were these just an oversight, or did you mean to exclude them? -Mike
I think the site's intention is to capture the vocabulary presented in the vocabulary section of each chapter, and not the supplementary vocab that's bound to show up in any chapter. This way it's useful for everyone. If find it useful to have a quiz for the names of days or what not -- you can make your own lessons from the "Quizzing" -> "Study Materials & Schedules" menu.
They were excluded not *intentionally* (in the sense of 'nuts to those, we don't need that!), but because they were not explicitly a part of the lesson vocabulary when I built those lists like...7 years ago.
If you were to make public custom lists of all the additional vocab lists in the book, I'm sure users would get a lot of use out of them. I unfortunately don't have time to make new lists myself because I spend 99% of my time doing bugfixing and development, so I look to users to increase the vocab content on the site.
I created a list of months (and filed a few bugs in the process), and found others had already created lists for the other sets of vocab I mentioned above. I scanned all the created lists a few times but never saw them before. I guess I'll look more closely next time. :)
