Hello,
I have created an account here last year or something, then I forgot about it, and got reminded to it only a few days ago.
Now I've got a lifetime pro subscription, and got more motivated than ever to use this site again.
That put aside, the only 2 aspects of Japanese I've been missing on this site are listening and speaking.
Speaking would require an actual human person, so that's not an issue for this site.
Listening on the other hand is something this site really should have for all JLPT levels.
It's often the hardest part of any JLPT exam, so being able to practise it here would be nice.
Don't get me wrong here, I would rather use real life YouTube videos (product reviews, Let's Play gameplay, etc.) myself for listening, but it's still nice to have something that's supposed to be there to help you improve this skill.
Unlike real life YouTube videos, listening-related training materials also offer you transscripts, quizzes, and whatnot.
Welcome back!
Listening is definitely something we'd like to dive into in the future. Same with reading comprehension. We've made a lot of strides with the grammar materials, but still have a ways to go. I can tell you it is definitely on our radar, but I cannot make any promises as to when we'll start developing said materials.
That being said, when the time does come, we will definitely be reaching out to see what will be the most useful for our users.
Oh yeah, reading comprehension!
Why did I forget about that? :O
That part took me a long time to complete during my N2 test back in December.
So long even, I had to skip a lot, meaning I had to lose lots of information in the process. ._.
Knowing that these things are on the radar makes me want to go pro even more.
Yes, I've been wondering about the listening questions as well ever since I became a pro member.
If reading comprehension does get a priority, I wouldn't mind if that comes first.
Like I said, I would love to get them constructed, but they could just as easily disappear off the radar as stay on there. Despite a bad habit of saying "we", aside from the kao-chan pictures we publish on the site, renshuu is a one-person company. My highest priority is redoing the N5/N4 grammar quizzes to better match the difficulty level of the tests. That could take a month, but it could also take six. Both the best and worst part of working for/by myself is I am not beholden to any schedule, but I have no one else to work with :)
