I went to study on my phone and found I had been logged out for the first time since I enabled the "keep me logged in" function months ago. Then when I went to relog in, I tried clicking the box to keep me logged in, but it doesn't respond at all, just stays blank.
That's not it, the login process has been functioning normally, it's just that the keep me logged in button has been unresponsive. I think I figured out what's happening. It appears the button for "keep me logged in on this device" is too small to be clickable when using my finger on the touchscreen I have. I borrowed a stylus from someone and was able to get the checkbox to activate that way, but it is impossble to click it without one. I really think when you get the time, you should revamp the mobile version so it's easier to use with a touchscreen, since this isn't the only area of the site where I've had problems clicking things, and it's not like I have a super small screen. At the very least, being able to use pinch+zoom gestures on the site would allow a quick workaround to make buttons big enough to click on.
I tried tinkering with the code a bit. However, I have not yet found a way to accurate reproduce the issue. If you are still having issues, can you find a set of steps that definitely work for you in creating the issue?
Steps: Open Firefox, load site, touch checkbox next to keep me logged in text, have nothing happen. Here are two screenshots showing how the login screen looks in Firefox vs Chrome on my Android phone. There seems to be a difference in how the button is styled, but I don't know if that's related to the reason why it doesn't work in Firefox. I can easily click the button in Chrome, but in Firefox it is usually unresponsive unless I use a stylus.
Starting today on my iPad using Safari and chrome; I have had to login each time I go on to the site. I can click to keep me logged in box however it doesn’t seem to be working. I am logging in to the site with username and password rather than google or Facebook.
I cannot yet replicate the firefox greyed out issue, but I think the site should be better at remembering you from the *next* time you log in with the remember button checked. Give it a shot!
The Firefox button isn't grayed out, it is clickable under certain circumstances, but it doesn't function how it should. The second image I included with the gray button is from Chrome, where the button does work. When I loaded the login page on an iPhone using Firefox, the button's appearance was identical to the appearance in the Chrome screenshot (gray square with rounded edges), and it functioned normally; I thought the difference in appearance was a styling issue, but perhaps there is a functional difference as well? As you can see from the first screenshot which is from Firefox on Android, I get a square with sharp edges that is not highlighted gray.
Alright, thanks for the clarification. I think I get what you're saying now. I do not have anything in the site that styles the checkboxes, so it might be specific to the browser's defaults.
I tried changing it so you can click on the text next to the box as well. See if that causes the box to be checked.
