Reward: six months of renshuu pro for a fully reproducible example of the issue.
(If you give information that leads to a fix, you'll also receive it!)
Issue: Even though a kanji appears as known (lightbulb turned on) in the dictionary, it appears as grey in a list or
quiz.
Example
In this case, the user knows the kanji
属, as is shown when the click the kanji and view it the dictionary. It will show with the lightbulb icon turned on.
Places where it occurs: inside of quizzes. Not known to appear in standalone lists.
Warnings when testing: When a term is
a)marked with a specific mastery level
b)studied for the first time (= a question is answered on it in a quiz)
The current "known" kanji is marked onto the word. After that point, the displayed kanji doesn't change unless your kanji knowledge changes.
In other words, if you see this issue appear in a quiz
a)on the "new terms in this quiz" page (
this is ideal for reproducing the issue)
b)in a question
The ability to see what is causing the error will
disappear if you actually answer the question for that term.
So, if you see this issue, you must
a)report to this thread, or send an in-quiz report
b)STOP studying that lesson/schedule
c)do NOT answer the question on the particular term.
This should allow me to reproduce the issue.
It's a very rare bug, but one that has been around for quite some time.
