Hello, I'm having a hard time understanding the meaning of this sentence:

そのいずれをもわぬ。」

Does anyone understand this structure?

The complete extract is the following (in case context is important):
さをったみ、れをむ。そのいずれをもわぬ。それはそののそのえらたつのである。」

That has quite a philosophical ring to it and feels a bit oldfashioned. Where can you find such kind of text?

Firstly, I'm pretty sure your should be み. Secondly, are you sure えらた is spelled correctly?

Your sentence means something like "Adversity or prosperity, neither is to be blamed." or more literal "... (I) don't blame either of them.", I think.

You're absolutely right, I chose the wrong うみ, it is corrected now.

えられた is written exactly like that on the book.

This text comes from page 13 of 「をひらく」 by .

So can we say that
A, B
のいずれをもわぬ」

means

"Neither A nor B are to be blamed"

?

Sounds about right to me, but it says のいずれ in the original text (and your first post).
