This is a thread where Indonesian translators can talk. Feel free to speak in your native language!

Oh, could you please tell me how you say "Indonesian" in Indonesian?

Thank you for volunteering for language translators. I'm just telling something, use the word "Kamu = you" instead of using "Anda". thank you

Indonesian is now available on the Translation Center (for translating words, kanji, grammar, sentences).

If you ever find a JP/Indonesian dictionary that is

a)free (not just free to use, but free to copy)

AND

b)not machine translated

Do let me know about it! I'd love to implement data for Indonesian if we can find it :)

Usually I use glosbe.com when translating something, and I think its not machine translated because the user can fix or add something. Hope that helps :)

Hey, guys just asking. How do we translate strings that describe tense (casual present, etc)? I'm not sure if bahasa Indonesia has a PUEBI version of it.

we can use

present = non lampau

past = lampau

did the others agree??

it's okay for 'past', I agree with lampau. but to me 'nonlampau' is weird

I think for the describe tense we can just write as it is in English because if we translate it to bahasa Indonesia, I think it would be so weird. But let's hear about the other opinion.

Also I'm confused about how to translate like 'if' and 'be' because it has multiple meanings.

I agree with the 'lampau' but the 'non' still sounds a bit weird to me.

Or maybe we should look at KBBI. I think there are some examples for this. But I'm not sure yet

Hello!

You all have done an amazing job, and the Indonesian work for the interface is almost finished! There's always changes being made and new features being added, but..not THAT much.

You all, along with the Brazilian Portuguese group, are the only ones that unfortunately do not have a large group of dictionary data (words, kanji, grammar, etc.) for Indonesian. Slowly but surely, I hope we can fix that!

Now, you are all aware of the Translation Center here: https://www.renshuu.org/commun...

Currently, all the materials in there are listed by frequency - the most frequent words come up first, for example.

For realistic goals and motivation, I am wondering if it would be better to just show the materials from a single group - for example, the JLPT N5 (this are the words you get if you choose the lowest Japanese level when you first join renshuu). If we did that, we could then say "Indonesian finished for JLPT N5", instead of "Indonesian finished for top 500 words". Then, if they study those materials, we'll know that it'll be in Indonesian.

What do you think?

That's great! So we just translate per group of materials right? Is what we currently translate now is already JLPT N5? If so, how do we know when we have finished translating it?

Yes per material, now focusing on JLPT n5 first.

good question, how do we know?

If I decide to go along with this idea, I'll change the way the page looks so it's very easy to see which group you are in!
