Created my account recently and I chose "self studying", this was before my Japanese textbook arrived. How do I switch to learning through textbook with renshuu?

If you go to the overview page for each of your schedules for Vocab, Kanji, etc., right beside the Study button is a gear icon for the settings.

Click on that and then click on the "Adjust Materials" button, so you can change your current lessons for ones that match your textbook.

1. Unschedule the old stuff you don't want

  • Click on "Me", (on left)
  • click on the green "Scheduled" for the currently schedule lesson(s) to unschedule them (should no longer be green).

2. Schedule the new stuff you do want

  • Click on Search (on left)
  • Now search for the lesson that matches your text book (if you have a standard text book like Genki just click on "made by renshuu" as it will be there )
  • Click on schedule all, for that lesson.
  • Click on save.

There is another way as well if you want to use one of renshuu's pre-packaged schedules (those are what are offered when you sign up):

1. Tap the "Manage your schedules" link on the dashboard

2. Tap "Make a Schedule"

3. If the textbook is officially supported by renshuu, it'll be listed there!

Anonymous' method is a bit longer, but much more powerful (you can search not just for renshuu-made materials, but from the 1000s of lessons that other users have made, including textbooks that aren't officially supported by renshuu).
