are you trying to say “i’m not american”? if so you can say

はアメリカじぁないです。

The way I would is to add 「じゃない」after the noun you’re trying to make negative.

So, わたしはアメリカじゃないです。

By adding the 「じゃない」you make アメリカ negative. This works with other nouns as well. So if I were to say “That is not a dog.” It would be 「あれはいぬじゃないです。」

Also, adding on to the messages above, you could use 'ありません' to be more polite

I think it’s でありません, not with , pronounce it like thokao_heart.png

Just a recap of what everyone said:

はアメリカです。・わたしはアメリカじんです。・Watashi wa amerika jin desu・I am American.

  • はアメリカではありません。・わたしはアメリカじんではありません。・Watashi wa amerika jin dewa arimasen.・I am not American.
  • はアメリカじゃないです。・わたしはアメリカじんじゃないです。・ Watashi wa amerika jin janai desu・I am not American.

(I believe the second version of I am not American is more informal that the one before it.)
