Forums - [Improvement] KEYBIND for Furigana ON/OFF

Whenever I'm studying Word flashcards, there is no option to toggle furigana ON/OFF for letting me ONLY stare at the Kanji and memorize the pronunciation without having furigana dangling above it and distracting me after I've already seen enough of the furigana.

Please give an option to where you can lets say "Press Shift to toggle between ON/OFF for showing Furigana"

If the Furigana is just permanently dangling above the Kanji, its distracting to try and actually engrain the Kanji in your head and I end up having to cover the Furigana with my hand on my screen or by pixel perfectly scrolling my webpage to block the Furigana (which is so clunky that i end up just using Anki instead when i REALLY wanna use Renshuu)

Please add it, thank you.

(also i know i bracketed this as "Improvement" and not "Feature Request" but man this is so crucial thats its a needed "Improvement" because having an annoying Furigana dangling above the Kanji you're trying to memorize is really bad...)

Thanks for the feedback. When you say "flashcards", can you tell me (or attach a screenshot) exactly where you're referring to?

I'm guessing it's one of three places:

1. When you first see the term before the quiz starts

2. While quizzing (with fill in the blank or multiple choice answers)

3. In the actual vocabulary lists (with pictures, sentences, etc.)

Once I have a better feel for where you'd like this, I can better help out :)

Add Toggle Furigana ON/OFF here: https://imgur.com/a/Dmj8KRR
And here also: https://imgur.com/z5YTiIe

I sent the 2 screenshots of the areas where Furigana not being able to be Toggled kind of really is a pain.

If you can implement this as a feature then thank you very very much, me and other users who also use the word decks would probably very much appreciate it as well :)

Thanks for the images!

For #1, I do not plan on adding a hiding feature - this page is only shown once, when the word is first introduced. Since it never comes up again, there is not really a way to use it as review - just an introduction.

As to #2, I will consider it, but I don't plan on adding any smaller features at the moment (focused on two much larger feature/content additions right now). This is probably not exactly what you're looking for, but let me tell you that once you either study kanji characters on renshuu, or mark a kanji character as known (using the lightbulb when viewing the kanji in a list or dictionary), it will stop showing furigana in quizzes like that. The system is set up so that only furigana is shown for kanji you are not familiar with (like textbooks), where kanji you are familiar with will not have the hints.

This is not as "good" as an on/off switch, but especially given that 90%+ of renshuu users do not have a keyboard in front of them (mobile users), a keyboard toggle is probably less-than-ideal. It'll need to be something else.

One of the main criticisms of renshuu is the complexity of the UI, so I have to be really careful before I throw on more visual elements (such as an on/off furigana switch).

renshuu is always in active development, though, and I'll definitely keep this in mind.
