Sometimes during my learning I get a popup like "can I take a minute to tell you about X".. I would like to re-read these! I imagine it's somewhere obvious but I'm not sure what these would even be called to start searching for them (as Kao-Chan's Lessons are something wholly different!)

You can go under the category "learn" and click "Japanese basics", and there you can find all the lessons Kao has to offer, the ones you have already completed will be marked with a green star! kao_great.png

ahhh thank you!! I hadn't gone there yet since I'm still just learning my characters, wanted to re-read the notes on dakuten specifically. I'll make sure to have a look over there kao_sparkle.png

I'm glad to help! I'm still getting used to the site myself, so I get the struggle! Dakuten are pretty easy once you get a grasp of them since they all have certain things to look for, for example the little bubble mostly adds to hiragana that start with h and makes the h's turn into p's! I think there are two exceptions though, once you add the two upper lines to both ち and し they both get pronounced as "ji" - じ ぢ. Although this じ is a lot more commonly used!

sorry for the rambling... kao_sleep.pngkao_don.png

Just an fyi - due to space constraints, it is called Learn in the website version of renshuu.org, but in the app, it would come under Resources :)

They do make sense and and I get what they do on a functional level... so now I'm just trying to get my brain to make the connection of which consonants turn into which when they get one, hence wanting to review the lesson kao_sorry.png and then exceptions of course always a fun part of learning language lol kao_don.png
