The quests are resetting earlier than they should which is annoying as I keep finding they have reset suddenly hours before they were due. Sometimes, like just now, they reset with an identical quest and it is unclear whether I got credit for doing the last set. I don't continuously look at the numbers but just at getting a greyed out "finished".
They are tied directly to the same time system that is used for scheduling. Although I know you've been around long enough to probably know this, let me just ask you to confirm that your time-zone and "when to reset schedules" settings in the global settings panel are set to expected values.
They are set to Tokyo time zone and to refresh at midnight. The last time the quest reset happened unexpectedly was today in the middle of the day. So the reset is happening sometimes twice a day I think.
I'm honestly not sure how this can be happening, so let me try something. I adjusted it so it'll email me every time your stuff resets, so let's see what happens over the next few days :)

I've seen this happen at least twice (though it is rare), with the garden daily quests resetting a second time some hours after midnight at the set time zone. It also deducts any coins earned from the reset quests.
One of the times I noticed it happen was after I'd unchecked a category under "Filter which quests appear", which also reverted to checked when the quests reset the second time, but I wasn't able to reproduce a double reset by playing with those settings again.
I've been on the web for the first resets and on the app when I noticed the second ones, but this is usually also the case when there is no double reset.
I had an idea and tried, as the last thing last night, clicking the edit garden button and navigating away without saving, to see if that would cause it to reset. I didn't click the dialog box asking if I wanted to save. My garden quests were reset this morning.

Do you mean they were reset as normal, or that they reset at an unexpected time?
Thanks for waiting. I'm still trying to figure out how this is happening, and have added some additional logging. I can say that the original logging I had shows the two resets (the normal one, then the second one) on that day, so there's one more piece of data I want to log and see if I can eek out an answer.
Sorry for the delay. It really feels like what is happening should be impossible. Let me ask you - do you typically use renshuu on only one device, or are you jumping back and forth between devices?
I cannot confirm the issue, but my suspicion is that one or the other is not pulling down the newest copy of the prefs (but a cached copy?), so it's not seeing the pref value for "quests_updated_last_day".
