マスターnotes that のみならず can be used with A- and B- parts that are more or less on the same level, which is the critical difference to にらず which always expresses a wider range in the B-part.

The first example sentence uses an い adjective but the grammar section only explains how the construction is formed with nouns...

マスター states that のみならず can be used with the casual form of verbs not only the dictionary form (so た-forms would be possible as well for example).
