Grammar usage notes

【それまでだ】Means, "that is the end," or, "there is no more." Used with すれば or したら, and often followed by expressions that mean, "later, there will be nothing left, so it is best to do something now."

んでしまえばそれまでだきているうちにやりたいことをやろう。/

Once we die, that's it. Let's do the things we want to while we're alive.

Should this be modified to include たら in addition to the ば conditional form? This can be seen in some of the examples?

It certainly doesn’t help when the only official example doesn’t fit the pattern. I would replace ば with a swung dash (~), indicating a suffix. It’s a suffix that can only go after a certain kind of stem, but that can be laid out in the explanation.
