I feel like this definition is very misleading, especially given the sentences in the examples and quizzes. "The marathon will be postponed" is not at all another way of saying "It rained today."

"Suffice it to say" is far better IMO.

I agree with the other comments. The examples are not the same sentence repeated in other words, but the obvious implications of the sentence.
I feel like it could be translated by "it goes without saying", "as you can imagine", etc.
