Differences between 大体 and たいてい:

たいてい is regarded as a stronger word than 大体 (a.k.a. greater possibility of occuring), and holds a greater sense of certainty. When asking someone a question (e.x. what time you usually sleep at), you would often use 大体 as you wouldn't know the answer beforehand and lack certainty of it.

Not sure if how useful it is for English speakers, but the kanji 大抵 can be pronounced たいてい which means "usually/mostly" in Chinese.

Well, in general if you know Chinese, learning Japanese can be a lot easier...

ちょっと! as an interjection is very context-dependent. It can mean "Hey / Excuse me" (to get attention) or "Hold on—what?" (mild protest or surprise). The meaning comes mostly from tone, delivery, and context.

(I'm a beginner and might misunderstand native dictionaries, but ...)

The Wisdom J-E Dictionary suggests:

ときどき
sometimes, occasionally, from time to time, (every) now and then ((again)), on and off ((off and on)), ((every)) once in a while

たまに
occasionally, only ((very)) occasionally, rarely, seldom

稀/まれ
rare, rarer, rarest, very ((extremely)) rare, uncommon, unusual, unique

The Super Daijirin Japanese Dictionary defines たまに with まれに: "まれに。思い出したように。たまには。"

Currently JMdict/jisho.org, wadoku.de and the Langenscheidt Lernwörterbuch use rather overlapping definitions for たまに and ときどき adjectives.
