There's a song called 恋人失格 by コレサワ that I really like, and for the most part, the lyrics are very understandable. There's one lyric that appears a few times that has me a little stumped. Here are the first two verses:
確かに出て行った
君は泣きそうな顔してた
だけれどやっぱ泣かないんだね
そういうとこが嫌いだった
確かに恋人で
君の部屋は優しかった
痩せたいと言いながらいつも
おかしを食べて笑ってた
そういうとこが好きだった
I understannd the general gist of these lines, but the そういうとこ part makes no sense to me. I even thought it was そういうこと (which made sense to me) until I looked up the lyrics, haha. I learned that とこ is a colloquial abbreviation of ところ and have seen a few example sentences with そういうところ in them, but I don't really understand what it means or how to use it. Any help is appreciated!
Wait, so とこ and こと the same in those types of situations? If it is, then whats the difference?
ところ has it's own grammar rules, and has possible meanings that differ from the grammar rules, and possible meanings of こと , but I believe (again I could be wrong), in this specific instance they would both basically mean "thing"
