Hello everyone!

This is probably an unusual question but, is there a way to hide your level when you post thing? I always end up avoiding posting because my level is high, but I’m not actually very good at Japanese. I do want to participate in the question corners though because I think it’s good practice!

Thank you!

Also pls let me know if this has already been answered or this question should go somewhere else.

I wouldn’t worry. Level doesn’t indicate ability, just time spent on renshuu.

I agree. As a self learner, lots of my time learning is spent here. However I often see people in the comments with similar levels (numbers) that are ages ahead in their language mastery. So yeah, I wouldn’t stress about thre Level number either.

First, sorry but in my personal opinion, I don't think your level is high. People who with higher levels do not necessarily be "very good at" Japanese either.😅

Second, if you really care about level, I remember some ways to take some actions to it (if they're not wrong, I can't say I'm very sure about this):

1. If you turn off Adventure Mode, you may be able to disable related features including level, but I think it would definitely be less fun without Kao-chan here.

2. You can tap your Kao-chan and go to Stats label, change your difficulty level to very hard, then your leveling up will be much slower.

There's maybe still no perfect help in my post, though.😅 I think it'd be better to enjoy all features which make renshuu special, regarding level as a indication of how "active" a person is in renshuu instead.

Your level definitely doesn't reflect your skills, since some people will pick up Renshuu after years of practice and their Kao will only be level 5 or so. Like others have said, your level doesn't equate to your current aptitude level, it's just an indicator of how much time you spend on Renshuu (and a lot of your EXP is review-based.) I wouldn't fret too much since your level is mostly an aesthetic option that unlocks more Kao options.

renshuu is specifically built around encouraging and rewarding study habits, not some arbitrary measure of skill (how can an app accurately measure that, anyway?). So higher level ONLY means "using renshuu for longer, and probably is pretty consistent with their studying". Level 100 could mean that you are taking it nice and slow and spent a lot of time on the hiragana/katakana alphabets, it could mean that you started learning high level materials two months ago - it could be anything.

Thank you for your clarification everyone! I feel less worried about posting now

Also thank you for the tip はぬ! I will probably do this just for the piece of mind.

You can tap your Kao-chan and go to Stats label, change your difficulty level to very hard, then your leveling up will be much slower.
