I have a good unrespectful mummy fact and wonder if yours is the same as mine. I need to have a look if I can find it again (read it somewhen on Wikipedia), then I can pm you the link if you want.

Hm. It's hard to say, but I actually have a lot of mummy facts, so maybe we know the same one

Probably.

Another random fact: If my mum hadn't been so stubborn and forbidding ("There's no need for those!"), I would be a very dedicated archaeologist today.

Oh no! That's so sad. How could you not want there to be archaeologists?

One time, I read a Wikipedia article about some mummies in China, and it was talking about their genetics and stuff. But it was talking about weird letters and numbers and stuff that was all way above my head. I wonder... is that archaeologists who learn that stuff? Who does that?

Not me, it was my mum who said that. I love archaeology and spent already as a little child time digging in the garden and checking molehills in meadows to find treasures. :D

Well, I meant "you" as in anyone in general. Isn't English a silly language? :P

English is a very silly language. I mean, in what other language can you watch your house burn up as it burns down, an alarm goes off by going on, and you fill in a form by filling it out?

Wouldn’t “Barefoot Bears Bearing Bier of Beer barley” make more sense?

Well, I guess every language has it's ambiguousness and I'm happy about it because it gives us some great jokes sometimes. :D

Genki I (textbook), chapter 1:

(こくさいかんけい / kokusaikankei) international relationship, diplomatic relationship

There is a possibility that I skip this one for now. Or learn only the hiragana.

Those are all pretty common kanji that will helpful to know. It might be less intimidating if you break it up into two words, international 国際 and relation 関係.

I wish I had learnt the components as stand-alones first. It's like having to run before I know how to walk.
