You should link them to a schedule. To do this, just click on the trees and choose this icon.
That will open a menu where you can select the schedule you'd like to tie to the trees.
Each schedule can only be linked to one tree. It takes around 60 days for a tree to fully grow, but I'm note sure about this since some of mine finished growing on day 40 and some on day 50. Maybe it has something to do with the selected schedules? Idk.
I don't think that's the case. I never miss a day and always complete all my schedules, but some trees still grew faster. I suspect number of questions in the schedule affects how long the trees take to grow. The bigger the quiz size, the faster they grow.

Number of questions do not matter - it's a "studied some" vs "studied none", that's it :)
Now, some trees have more or less stages than others, so the growth may seem more obvious. Other trees have two stages that may look very similar at first glance.
