I have noticed that, in the grammar library, several grammar points appear in hiragana only,
and if I add them to a schedule to study them, they also appear in
hiragana in the review card that appears before the quiz. Sometimes, most of the
sample sentences are also using hiragana.
However, once they do appear within a sentence in the quiz, sometimes kanji is used instead.
But in a quiz, I sometimes get sentences like this one: あの人は利益が出ないにも関わらずこの仕事を引き受けてくれる。
I understand that sometimes kanji is used instead of hiragana if the
sentence is written/more formal. However, I find it a bit confusing
sometimes when I first study a grammar point + some of the sample sentences in the library and the kanji is not shown, and then I get a sentence in a quiz like the one above, with kanji.
Sometimes, some of the sample sentences do use kanji, but the grammar entry is only in hiragana as well: https://www.renshuu.org/gramma...
Am I missing something? Is this something I can tweak on my end? I don't think it's related to whether I know the kanji/word or not (lightbulb), right?
Would it be possible to always include kanji with furigana in the grammar library? Or perhaps only show the kanji if it is marked as Known?
Some grammar are forced to hiragana only if the grammar itself is usually shown as hiragana, but the words that make it up might be shown as kanji in other situations. I did fix the ones on ことなく.
This is not a perfect system, so letting me know when you see ones that are not behaving this way will help a lot. Unfortunately, this system cannot carry over to the quizzing area without running the risk of removing the kanji of words attached to the grammar, but not actually part of the grammar (in the way that the site marks up the data). I hope to improve this in the future, but not yet.
