Forums - Adding New Words to Renshuu Dictionary

Hi there,

I've been enjoying the app a whole lot thus far, however I am surprised with how many words that aren't on this app, but are on other apps.

For example, I tried to use 「 (しゃげききんちいき)」, which means "no fire area" in a word chain, but I couldn't because it wasn't in the app's dictionary. Meanwhile, I found this word from two other Japanese dictionary apps.

I was wondering if there will be an update soon that will add more words to the Renshuu dictionary.

In the meantime, I was also wondering if there is already a forum where I can request new words. If not, can this forum be that place?

ありがとうございました。

Hello!

Users can add custom terms to lessons/schedules, but they will not show up in the dictionary for everyone. For example, on a schedule, if you go to the summary page, choose "materials", you can add individual terms.

That being said, we are due for an update from EDICT, which is the underlying dictionary that renshuu and many (most?) online sources utilize. It's actually the perfect time for me to do it, so I'll try and get this started in the next few days.

So, I did an update of the dictionary - added about 13,000 new entries!

That being said, I think there's an error in your original term - the kanji and hiragana don't match. The last kanji character should be , not . If you search

it appears (and has been in for some time) in the dictionary.

Let me know if you notice anything else!

Just tried it out, and you're right. I did have an error in the kanji.

Thanks for pointing that out.
