As probably many other users do, I have a single Vocab Schedule with all the renshuu's JLPT term packs added (around 8k terms) and set it to randomly introduce 3 new terms from it into SRS every day, but sometimes I play a japanese game and end up with a list of vocabs that I would like to start SRS immediately, like these from today play session: 上陸, 沖合, 連合, 潜水, 偵察, 大佐, 的確, 離脱, 関与, 狂言, 甲斐, 占領, 続行, 退却, 奪回, 侮る.
In this situation, would be really helpful if there was an easy way to tell the site these are the next words I want it to present me.
Right now the only way I've found it is from the schedule's "unstudied terms" list, where I can use the tool to manually modify the mastery level of those and bump it to 1, the problem with this method is that they get straight into the quiz for that day while skipping the "preview" page of all the newly introduced terms for that day that you get every time you start a quiz, furthermore I would still get 3 new term completely unrelated to them because of the schedule setting, so every time one would have to manually change the number of new terms per day from 3 to 0 when there is this situation, which is not the most practical solution.
These are 3 different ideas on how this feature could be introduced:
A)In the preview list of terms that are to be studied that day (that you get at the beginning of a quiz) an icon/option could be added next to each term which say "manually specify a new term to study", so from the 3 terms of that day I could click all 3 and type in 3 from my list above, so without changing any options, for that day only I would be introducing for example 上陸, 沖合, 連合, while getting the preview page for them (because I am already in it).
B)Another (less immediate) way would be from the "unstudied terms" list, where there could be an icon/option associated to every terms that says "introduce this term to the next quiz" which would then take priority over the randomly introduced term.
C)The third option would be still from the "unstudied terms" list, this time using the same method that already add the term to the quiz (which is increasing its mastery level to 1), but if this is done and the term was never quizzed on, then it should also appear in the term preview page.
What do you think about this? :)
Just to bring two further options to the table on how to manage a situation like you have - this is not to invalidate your ideas, just to show alternatives for the meantime that might result in what you want to have (new terms properly introduced) until a different system is or is not added.
Option 1 (the one I ended up using):
I manage the controlled addition of new terms by having some schedules specifically set-up for new vocab introduction and nothing else (one for the textbook I am working on, one for the lowest JLPT level I still do not have all terms from, etc.).
Said schedules are the only ones allowing new terms to be introduced every day and I either load in specifically the one textbook chapter I am working on or manually add those individual terms I want to study.
Option 2:
Add a term you are interested in to your study pad (clicking on the green plus sign and then select it as a target), navigate to it [Library -> Me] and start a quiz from there. This should also bring up the introduce new term option, at least it did so for me when I tested it just now. I am not really using the study pad portion of the site though, so I don't know to what extend you can customize it like you can customize schedules (how many new terms to introduce, etc.).
Not too familiar with Number 2 approach (and study pad in general), but Number 1 is a great idea SirEdgar and I'll probably do that! Thanks :)
(the only downside is if a vocab is so rare that isn't part of the JLPT pack (I'm quizzing on 楔石 from Darksouls after all lol), so I end up quizzing it once on the "side schedule" and never seeying it again in the Main Schedule, so it requires some double-checking every time I add something ^_^')
I unfortunately do not have time to think about more power-level adjustments at the moment, but let me just comment and say that the Study Pad is just a conveniently named lesson, and does not have any special, schedule-like settings attached to it.
It's hard to see from this end, but renshuu is seeing a considerable uptick in new users, and I'm trying to make sure as many of them as possible is enjoying their new home for learning :)

Glad to hear that, even if only a little I try to help on my end with that, I think this site deserves much more activity and recognition that what it currently has
Keep up the good work :)
