Thread time! I'm new and learning renshuu, so far it's such an underrated app. I want to learn more about it, and I must hask what is your favourite thing/feature, and how has it improved your studying?
My favorite things are the Shiritori and crossword games, they improved my vocabulary a lot.
I also enjoy the games, but my favorite thing about renshuu is probably obvious, the mnemonics. Other sites have mnemonics, but none that I have seen are so feature-rich and accessible. By giving me a central place to note all my ideas about words and characters, renshuu makes it easy to build on those ideas and extend them to new vocabulary.
And the pitch accent! I've never seen anything teach pitch accent before, that's really useful. At first, renshuu seemed a little complicated to use, but once you get used to it, it's such a great app!
My favorite thing about Renshuu is it has vocab, grammer, kanjii (both meanings and readings), sentences, and listening, and more all in one place, and it is all integrated. It's a one stop shop which has everything I need.
The ability to customize how you want to learn things is pretty amazing too.
I’ve been on here for a few months and I still don’t feel like I’ve explored every feature and tool!
I love user shiritori and shiritori cat, the motivators (xp, kao garden, kao coins etc) and all the ways you can customize your studies
My favorite thing is the lesson section. The lessons are plain and simple enough for me to understand , but complete enough to make sense. My only suggestion to make them better is if you could hit a "+" button on the example sentences. This would allow me and add them to the studypad / schedules when I find a good one.
I'm going to be that person and say everything. The lesson qualities are near perfection, the games are addicting and helpful, the question corner is dope, the community is wonderful, the customization abilities is powerful and amazing--this is my all-time favorite Japanese learning app, for sure.
Unfortunately, those sentences are embedded in the lessons, so they actually aren't part of the sentence database!
I love the variety, the option to talk with the community, Japanese questions, haikus, and the game design the app/website has!
Honestly, I think that renshuu is such a gem, the lessons are clear, there are so many lessons, even if you don't have the pro version (which is also at a very reasonable price). You also have printable Kanji sheets, that you can create, and you usually have to pay for those in workbooks or on Etsy, so that's also awesome!
The games are also very fun - they taught me how to write kanji correctly and more efficiently and the leaderboards kind of motivate me to keep writing and improve my time! I also love the option to play shiritori with other players - it's both interactive and just a fun way to learn how to spell, learn the Japanese keyboard and get to know new vocabulary!
The best thing about it really is that anyone can find something that they're interested in, even if they don't have much time, like me, I just have a goal to do at least one (preferably all three) daily challenges and that has kept my routine of learning Japanese every day. The other apps and websites for learning Japanese lack the variety and therefore they make the learning process boring and repetitive, like I've tried using so many apps, like Busuu, Duolingo, Wanikani (which I still use) and some other forgotten ones as well, but I've kind of fallen off or just don't log in as much or even at all.
Also, I love the Kao coins! I was so happy to make my contributions through the drawing contest! They also make the lessons worth it, I learned some new cultural facts and words from them!
Also, when will the results of the drawing contest be posted?
