する nouns (such as する or する) are often abbreviated in everyday speech by dropping the する in this format, leaving the noun(the part that comes before する) + にる.
Ex: る. (I'm going back home to study)

I also have a question about this grammer point-

(Noun)+にる... is this how you say 'return to a (noun)'?

e.g. る- return to school?

I would have thought so but the 'meaning' entry says otherwise :-S

There are two forms of the N に る. When it's a place, it works as you have noted. I'll add that in. Thanks!
