I have seen sentences with たいのだ and たいんです instead of たいものだ, but with the same meaning. Are they the same thing?

For example:
をしたいのだが、おがありません = I want to travel but I don't have money
したいんですが、ラジオをさくしていただけませんか。 = I want to study Japanese, but can you turn out the radio?

And I think, any of these variations are possible too (correct me if I'm wrong):
たい + もの + だ / です / である
たい + の + だ / です / である
たい + ん + だ / です / である

Did you two come to a consensus in that other thread about the difference?

もの tends to be stronger, so they are the same meaning wise (roughly), but it's hard to represent that "stronger" in the translation.
