My 中学校 daughter would prefer "てからじゃないと" in normal conversation.
はじめにAしなかったら、Bしない (できない)
While this commonly means unless or until A is done, B cannot be done, it can also mean if A isn’t done, B will happen. The difference turns on whether the main clause is about possibility, permission, or feasibility, or whether it’s about an undesirable consequence. For example,「 少し離れてからでないと、泣き出してしまう」means “If she didn’t first move away a little, they would end up crying.”
