Noun + の + ついでに is also possible.

のついでに、にいるいにった。(Unicom)

Adj(na)stem + ついでに is possible (ついでに since X is doing a difficult thing). The same with i-adj but only a limited number of them can be used (ones that describe an undesirable situation)
