With the volitional form of 置く(おく→おこう), it may be understood/translated as 'let's not ...', i.e. a negative form of the volitional form
For examples, there are quite a few using the phrase "ないでおこう" in the sentences section, e.g.
> あの子は寝ているから、起こさないで置こう。
> That child is sleeping, so let's not wake her.
