Yeah I'm pretty sure 仕舞う needs to be connected to a verb with the て form to show completion. I can't think of a way to make this work with this grammar point since it shows completion, but this sentence is implying something has yet to be done. The おめえ part and 歩いていけよ seem OK though. Want to give it another shot with a new sentence?

Instead of using じゃあ you might want to use まあ in this case. Also you can make the sentence a lot simpler by just saying ・・・一生懸命やった・・・. Finally, there are two ways you could finish this sentence: 1) ・・・結局(けっきょく)負けちゃった or 2) ・・・やったのに、負けちゃった. Personally, I'd choose option 1.

現に、私しかあなたの誕生日を忘れちゃいなかった。
Actually, It was only I(and no one else) who forgot your birthday. (I think that's how you use しか). That or you could use だけ:
現に、私だけあなたの誕生日を忘れちゃった。
It was just I that forgot your birthday.
But I think your sentence was close enough, but put a だ after だけ. :] I dunno why but it would sound better that way. *nod*

I think using 「実は」in this sentence is very good;it sound natural.
I'd suggest that using [~んです(Adding nuance of explaining the situation to the listner,and/or expecting understanding from the listner)] would make this sentence more natural.
