I'm not sure of the rule for fictional characters but I'm pretty sure you should put いない instead of い for the Pikachu sentence.

I second Gaicha, but I'm not sure either. I am sure that the concept of いる can be used for many things even remotely alive or lifelike, such as statues of people.

Hey, doesn't the second construction, "The more A, B", need the ば form?

Like this: ければくほどはい。

Fixed the Pikachu thing. Also, the reibun that is in there for 'The more A, B' shouldn't be there; that's a different usage. That's why the ば is missing. I distinctly remember them being separate in the textbook, but I actually don't have any good example sentences for it.

Thanks! I added it to the bottom meaning, let me know if you feel they should be added elsewhere (although the example sentences you gave all go with that last meaning).

It's interesting that ほど is a N4 vocabulary term, but all of its grammar usages seem to be N2.
Perhaps this usage could be added under N4 (there's not much to it, as far as I can tell it is pretty much identical to くらい or およそ in function):

ほど -- about; around; some

50ほどく -- walk for about 50 minutes
ほど -- about a week ago

Is the first grammar here the exact same as the grammar ほどだ and the second grammer point in くらい/ぐらいだ ??
Or is there a tad difference in all???

I don't see much of a difference between the first point on this page and the one on the ほどだ page, I'm not really sure why they both exist. Also, I believe that ほど can be used pretty much exactly like くらい to suggest an approximation.

The exist separately because they use different core words, even if they have relatively similar meanings. It makes it easier to others to find the material, keep different meanings using the same word together, and at the same time minimizing the length of any single grammar page.

Ah, that makes sense. I could see some of the grammar pages getting pretty long if you didn't split them up like that.

Sorry if I am wrong, but I think there is a mistake in the picture sentence (はチータいですよ).

I found this note on the Grammar:

When hodo is preceded by a noun, the predicate must be negative. The following sentence is ungrammatical.

*ほどつよい。
(I am as strong as Taro.)

Apparently I am using the same grammar book. ^^
But since demonstratives work with an affirmative predicate, it raises the question why nouns are so exceptional...?
If the sentence was changed to something like はチータもけるほどいですよ。(= He's so fast he can even outrun a cheetah.) it'll still work with the picture, I suppose.

I'm terribly sorry about that - I know the grammar book you're talking about. We want to save the picture, so we're going to try and come up with a different sentence.
