--Another construction is to use it with negative verb--
-Replace the い with さ, then add すぎる-
Ex:
*時間が足りなさすぎる。
Too much lack of time.
-The adjectives that consist of 無い (e.g. もったいない, 情けない) will follow this construction, instead of the usual one-
Ex:
*もったいなさすぎる。
Too good/wasteful.
情けなさすぎる。
Too ashamed.
間違いなさすぎる。
Too certain.
*足りない already has the meaning "insufficient, not enough" while もったいない has "too good/wasteful or more than one deserves". Using them with ~すぎる will give much more degree to the state.
