this grammar point is taught in lesson 42 of N4 but it doesn't show up in the quiz afterwards, is that normal? is it because it's also linked to lesson 43 according to "where this grammar is found"? is that a mistake?
The listing under the dictionary was a mistake, but not the lessons. There is another form (V-ようにする) that is taught in lesson 42, while this one is taught in 43.
Hello! I am not sure this is just me, but isn't the verb in this grammar piont suppose to be in the volitional form? As in 行こう, 話そう, 食べよう etc. It seems to me that the construction you gave is an error. Or perhasp, the way shown in the construction is a variation to say "try". Yet again I may have just misunderstood, I don't know. Just thought I would bring it up. :)
On the N4 Grammar quiz, we have this sentence: 「少しは覚えようにしなさい!」.
Is the bolded part correct? The answer is based on the "Try to 'A'." grammar and the rule require the use of the dictionary form; that being the case, would 「覚えるよう」be the proper form?
I am not sure of what the proper grammar is, so I decided against sending a proposed correction.
